Laughter
I’m feeling slow this morning. A little like the fog outside. I shuffled my deck of fairy cards asking for some help. I pulled Laughter.
How do you find humor when you feel like you’ve just been through the trenches. I’m going to turn myself around here by finding those things I feel thankful for. My dog and cat make me smile. I’m going to put a smile on my face. I’m going to remind myself that everything is really all right. I can have everything I want. Don’t take it so seriously. I may look life threatening, but is it really? Trust. Smile. Give yourself a hug. Smile at everyone today.
Make it a great day.
In Love,
Susan
Vulture Medicine
After I had a visit by 6 turkey vultures in suburbia today I decided to look up the totem and see what medicine they came to offer.
The Pueblo Indians saw the vulture as a sign of purification and the Greeks considered it to be a symbol of transformation. As old decayed flesh was removed, new life emerged.
Trust is one of the main teachings they offer. They know how to use what is available to them to the fullest extent and teach us how to be resourceful and innovative with what we have.
One of their gifts is the cleaning up of messes. Many times we create physical and psychic messes that we don’t want to deal with. The vulture can guide us to the efficient and joyful resolution of such problems. If vulture has flown into your life you are being asked to remedy a messy situation and turn it into something positive.

Considering what has transpired in my life this weekend I welcome the Vulture. I will invoke the energy to guide me toward positive resolutions.
The universe always gives us exactly what we need.
Feeling Good for a Good Cause
Doing something good for yourself just got easier. I’ve found that it’s easier to treat myself well when someone else also benefits. Here’s an opportunity that’s also kind to your wallet.
Donna Robinette, Certified Massage Therapist will be at the West Shore Senior Center providing full body massages on Wednesday, March 31. Her fee is $35 per hour for a quality massage. She gives $10 to the center for every massage.
Everyone benefits. I know it isn’t a fancy spa, but you won’t have to pay the fancy spa price. It’s a great time to work out some of those kinks from shoveling snow this winter.
I have an appointment booked. If you want one also call the West Shore Senior Center at 717-774-0409. It is located a 122 Geary Ave, New Cumberland, PA 17070.
One Bad Apple
If you are continuously attracting the circumstances around you by what you are thinking and feeling then you realize the importance of taking time to check in with yourself. You know what I’m talking about. Those days when something hits you between the eyes and you feel kinda beat up.
Someone was just relaying her experience on a trip where she lost her drivers license, and went through every possible check at the airport under the name of you have been randomly selected. Hmmm…do you have a target on your back or are you caught up in a vibration that you aren’t enjoying. Your experiences are by vibration.
I’ve had my own experience lately with a very angry gentleman and a controlling woman. I would say they are both very controlling but with different techniques. OK, I’m not a victim. Yea, I may want to enjoy that role for a moment as I vent. But the quicker we come around to ask ourselves “what’s happening withing me” the sooner we will shift the experience. “They” will either leave or feel no need to act out.
The sooner we can stop focusing on the negative the less energy goes that direction. It’s amazing how one person out of group can get your attention with negativity and you put your focus there and get stuck. Then you whine and think about it and complain about it and on and on.
The sooner you can remember all the other nice people in the room the better. Oh that’s right how many nice comments you’ve had. How happy everyone else seems to be that you exist. So you tick one person off. Focus on all the people that appreciate you and you will get more of the same.
The other will leave or get quiet.
“When you begin to understand Law of Attraction, and you understand that which is like unto itself is drawn, then it is easier and easier to understand that you are offering a signal, and the entire Universe responds. And when you finally get that, and you begin to exercise some deliberate control about the signal that you offer, then it really begins to be fun, because then you recognize that nothing happens outside of your creative control. There are no things that happen by chance or by circumstance. There is nothing that is happening because of something you vibrated a long time ago or in a past life. It is not about what you were born into. It is only about what you are, right now, in this red hot fresh moment emitting.”

Choco Maca Smoothie
Maca and Spirulina can taste a bit “strong” in a smoothie. This recipe works well and is loaded with vitamins, minerals and protein.
1-1/2 Cups Chocolate soy milk
1 tsp Spirulina
1 tsp Maca powder
1/16 tsp pure stevia powder
1 banana
1 tsp Sunflower butter
1 tsp Hemp oil
6 ice cubes
Everything goes in the blender till smooth. Enjoy.
Goji Berries
An Asian superfood worth adding to your diet because they improve liver function, strengthens eyesight, boosts the immune system, improves circulation, increases alkalinity, improves fertility, high in antioxidants, contains proteins, essential fatty acids, minerals, amino acids, more beta carotene than carrots, and increase stamina and energy.
Whew, that’s a lot. They are easy to add to your diet. They are tasty so you can munch on the dried berries by the handful. Try adding them to some trail mix. You can toss them in a salad. They add a nice variety in your diet.
For additional information and to order check them out in the Nutrition page.
I’m sorry…
I’m sorry, please forgive me, I Love You. I was reminded of this phrase today. As much as I know about eating well, stress reduction, self care…well I slip myself. It’s easy. You think…sure I can do that, no big deal. The problem is when there’s I can do that and that and that and you keep pushing and pushing and pushing. The Super Hero is in the air. Bam, she’s on the ground. Cape tattered and dirty. Feeling a little dazed she wonders how she got here. Oh yea, time for a little life review without the near death experience thank you.
I first heard the story behind the I’m sorry, please forgive me, I love you phrase from a friend. Then heard it told by Dr. Joe Vitale on his CD series The Secret to Attracting Money.
The abridged version is a Shaman/Psychologist in Hawaii went to work at an institution for the criminally insane. He didn’t see the patients, but sat with their files and connected energetically. He connected to those places within himself that needed to be loved and forgiven. He was so successful I believe they eventually closed the facility.
Wow, the power of forgiveness and love. If we all just work on healing ourselves the world would be a much healthier place.
Here’s to self love. Be gentle on yourself. I’m working on it also.
In Love,
Susan
If you don’t meet resistance with resistance, it dissipates dramatically.
It just softens. Try it! Next time somebody says to you, “I’m right, and
you’re wrong,” say, “Pfftt, you’re right. You are right. You’re right.”
And mean it. In other words, don’t mock them. Don’t be sarcastic. “You’re
right.” And then watch how, all of a sudden, their legs almost go right
out from under them. They don’t have the energy to blast you, because you
just took the fuel away from the fire.

Adaptogens
Adaptogen is a term associated with herbs that increase the body’s resistance to stress, trauma anxiety and fatigue. I don’t know anybody that would say they couldn’t use a little help in those areas. In the past these herbs were referred to as rejuvedating herbs, qi tonics or restoratives.
All adaptogens contain antioxidents, but antioxidents are not necessarily adaptogens and that is not their primmary mode of action. Adaptogens allow the body to counter adverse physical, chemical or biological stressors by raising nonspecific resistance toward stress, thus allowing the organism to “adapt” to the stressful circumstances.
An adaptiongen is:
*non-toxic
*produces a nonspecific response in the body and an increase in the power of resistance against multiple stressors including physical, chemical or biological agents.
*has a normalizing influence on physiology, irrespective of the direction of change from physiological norms caused by the stressor.
Adaptogenic herbs are distinct from other substances in their ability to balance endocrine hormones and the immune system. Adaptogens are proposed to have a normalizing effect on the body and to be capable of either toning down the activity of hyperfunctioning systems or strengthening the activity of hypofunctioning systems.
Peruvian Maca root is an adaptogen. You can read more about Maca root in my Nutrition.
