Health Tonic

Around Thanksgiving there appeared to be an outbreak of colds, sore throats, and a general increase in people feeling lousy.  I’ve never seen it so significantly.  I have been hit myself with a case of bacterial pneumonia. I am clearing out the last remains of congestion and inflammation.

I thought I would share some of the things I am doing to get my health back on track since so many people have been effected.

My health care professional uses Bio-Energetic screening.  This is how I found out exactly what I had going on.  I was then given a custom made homeopathic remedy.  I would not recommend homeopathic remedy’s for pneumonia unless it is pinpointed with a machine such as this.  This machine pinpoints exactly which bacteria are present and creates the homeopathic to match. Other wise see a physician and get on antibiotics.

I believe in being empowered in my own health care and wanted to do what ever else I could, besides rest, to help my body realign.  I have never been a huge fan of juicing but I do believe it can be very beneficial.  When I’m healthy my feeling is I would rather eat the veggies whole and get the benefits of the fiber.  When we are sick I think it’s good to do as much as possible to make it easy for your body to absorb the nutrients needed.

I suggest you cut back on animal protein, especially during illness.  Animal protein is harder to digest.

Start juicing at least once a day, two or three would be great.

Here’s a great starter that will boost your potassium.  Potassium helps repair damaged tissue, especially in the lungs.  This is not recommended if you have heart disease.  Potassium helps to regulate your heart function and too much can create a problem in someone with a heart condition.  Consult your health care provider.

2-4 large carrots

2-4 stocks of celery

1-4 cloves of garlic

2 radishes

and a little parsley or cilantro

After you have the veggies juiced add 1/8 to 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper to help stimulate circulation. Juicing will give your body the rest it needs to focus on getting well, yet give you a wonderful source easily digested nutrients.

Anti-Aging

Aging doesn’t have to be painful and ugly.  With good self care you can help maintain your energy, skin, libido, and health.  Help your body by eating well.  An improper diet creates candida overgrowth which saps your energy and stresses your adrenals.  High acidic levels create joint problems.  Joint replacement is big business these days.  It’s great that they can replace them, but why not save yourself the pain by taking some precautions.  I’ve listed three food based items that are easy to add to your diet.  Sunfood is offering them this weekend buy one, get one free. That’s hard to pass up.  Here’s what to look for:

Maca: This is raw, Peruvian maca.  Maca is nature’s Viagra.  It is beneficial for men and women.  Maca is reported to support and balance the endocrine system, endurance and mental focus.    It is also beneficial for depression and addiction.

MSM:  This is sulfur which is one of the essential minerals that is difficult to get with our modern diet.  It is important for healthy cells.  Especially the joints.

Pau D’Arco Tea:  This is a light, pleasant tasting tea that is particularly beneficial for eliminating candida, relieving constipation and building red blood cells.  Even if you don’t feel you have any of these issues you will enjoy the flavor and support your body in staying healthy.

I use each of these products on a regular basis.  You can find more information by clicking on the link below or to order.  This is a great time stock up.  I am. Sunfood offers many great products. Check them out.

Support for good health.

If I had to choose just one food to boost my health I would choose Spirulina.  Spirulina is a blue green algae and:

* it’s easily digestable

* a great source of protein, vitamins, minerals, amino acids, chlorophyll

* boosts the immune system

* boosts your energy

* good source of B12 and other B vitamins which helps strengthen your nervous system

* contains rare essential fatty acid GLA

* helps your body release toxins

* increases mental alertness

* lowers blood cholesterol

* helps balance blood sugar

* 10x’s more Beta Carotene than carrots

* contains Zeaxanthin/Lutein which is excellent for eye health

* rich in iron

I like to use Spirulina in powder form at home.  The easiest way to do this is to use a jar or beverage container with a good lid.  Add your juice and spirulina, shake and go.

When I’m away the tablets are handy.  They can be chewed, but I prefer to swallow them with water.

Spirulina is a food.  It’s good to start out taking a small dose and build from there.  Notice how you feel.  Experiment with amounts.  When I’m under more stress I take more to keep my energy and immune system going strong.

I’ve experimented with a lot of different products over the years to help keep me healthy. Spirulina is a foundation product for me. I use some others as well, but when I have to pick and choose I don’t go without the spirulina.

Natural Pain Relief

MSM provides major pain relief through the following actions:
* The inhibition of pain impulses along nerve fibers.
* Lessening of inflammation.
* Increasing of blood supply.
* Reduction of muscle spasm.
* Softening of scar tissue.

MSM can be used with any standard medication without problem. Often patients can reduce and sometimes even discontinue their prescriptions because of MSM’s healing effects. Any modification of medication should be done only under the guidance of a physician. Do not discontinue any prescription without consulting your doctor.

Many people experience rapid relief after starting MSM, even within a few days.

Pain Relief

I decided to expand my knowledge of MSM which is an organic sulfur supplement I have been taking for a few months now.  I am currently reading the book “The Miracle of MSM The Natural Solution for Pain” written by several Doctors.  I know I have seen benefits from using the MSM.

They feel MSM is a safe, natural effective solution for many types of pain and inflammatory conditions, including:

* Degenerative wear and tear arthritis

* Rheumatoid arthritis

* Chronic back pain

* Chronic headaches

* Muscle pain

* Fibromyalgia

* Tendinitis and bursitis

* Carpal tunnel syndrome

* TMJ

* Post-traumatic pain and inflammation

* Heartburn

I have noticed a difference in my joints and skin.  It’s inexpensive.  I use the powdered version mixed in juice or my smoothie.  It works well with Vitamin C.
