Chronic Fatigue

I have been challenged with a fatigue that comes and goes over the past 1-1/2 years. It has physically manifested with a variety of things such as Lymes Disease once. I got rid of that. Then picked up E-Coli and had that much longer then I normally have “things.” I’ve gone through a bought of parasites and then Epstein Barr.

What it boils down to is there is a greater message I haven’t been listening to. I got busy with a job and relationship and stopped taking the time to listen. I fell off the wagon so to speak of self care. It’s common, I know I’m not alone. Life happens and you push yourself through what you think you need to do to survive. The magic word here is PUSH. We demand of ourselves, unkindly. We stop listening.

Just this week as I was getting ready for my other job I felt the tiredness. I had this talk with myself, “You had enough sleep. Knock it off. You aren’t tired. Stop being a whinny pants! Then I up and changed those whinny pants to something more gung-ho and energetic.” It worked. I got moving and got through my day. I did what I needed to do in that moment. Now my job is to take the time when it is more convenient and listen to what my body is so desperately trying to tell me.

Where am I not honoring my true feelings and needs? We all need to take the time to listen. Call it gut instinct or feelings or how ever your inner wisdom get’s your attention. Maybe you get insight through images. Have you lost touch with that inner wisdom and guidance? Our bodies speak to us in sign language. Illness is the sign of imbalance.

I’ve seen a lot of clients with depression and chronic fatigue over the years. I guess right now I’m learning about them first hand. The best teacher is experience. So here I am working through my own blocks. Here I am re-instating my own self care practice with yoga, meditation, healing work and nutrition.

The physical symptoms are a message that needed a louder delivery. I am paying attention to when symptoms show up and when they aren’t there at all. Just like in meditation, I’m the observer. What’s here now? Being curious. Journal. Willing to see things differently. The universe/greater wisdom/God is working with me and you. Trying to get our attention.

I have updated my nutritional products. Check them out. They are an important part of self care. Proper nutrition will boost you physically, energetically and emotionally. For fatigue I recommend spirulina, maca and msm. Feel free to contact me for some advise on the suppliments.

Proper nutrition will not fix every problem.

There is no substitute for living passionately and doing the things that are important to you. What is your soul longing to do?

I’d love to help. Please contact me for an appointment. We can work in person or over SKYPE.

Anti-Aging

Aging doesn’t have to be painful and ugly.  With good self care you can help maintain your energy, skin, libido, and health.  Help your body by eating well.  An improper diet creates candida overgrowth which saps your energy and stresses your adrenals.  High acidic levels create joint problems.  Joint replacement is big business these days.  It’s great that they can replace them, but why not save yourself the pain by taking some precautions.  I’ve listed three food based items that are easy to add to your diet.  Sunfood is offering them this weekend buy one, get one free. That’s hard to pass up.  Here’s what to look for:

Maca: This is raw, Peruvian maca.  Maca is nature’s Viagra.  It is beneficial for men and women.  Maca is reported to support and balance the endocrine system, endurance and mental focus.    It is also beneficial for depression and addiction.

MSM:  This is sulfur which is one of the essential minerals that is difficult to get with our modern diet.  It is important for healthy cells.  Especially the joints.

Pau D’Arco Tea:  This is a light, pleasant tasting tea that is particularly beneficial for eliminating candida, relieving constipation and building red blood cells.  Even if you don’t feel you have any of these issues you will enjoy the flavor and support your body in staying healthy.

I use each of these products on a regular basis.  You can find more information by clicking on the link below or to order.  This is a great time stock up.  I am. Sunfood offers many great products. Check them out.

Support for good health.

If I had to choose just one food to boost my health I would choose Spirulina.  Spirulina is a blue green algae and:

* it’s easily digestable

* a great source of protein, vitamins, minerals, amino acids, chlorophyll

* boosts the immune system

* boosts your energy

* good source of B12 and other B vitamins which helps strengthen your nervous system

* contains rare essential fatty acid GLA

* helps your body release toxins

* increases mental alertness

* lowers blood cholesterol

* helps balance blood sugar

* 10x’s more Beta Carotene than carrots

* contains Zeaxanthin/Lutein which is excellent for eye health

* rich in iron

I like to use Spirulina in powder form at home.  The easiest way to do this is to use a jar or beverage container with a good lid.  Add your juice and spirulina, shake and go.

When I’m away the tablets are handy.  They can be chewed, but I prefer to swallow them with water.

Spirulina is a food.  It’s good to start out taking a small dose and build from there.  Notice how you feel.  Experiment with amounts.  When I’m under more stress I take more to keep my energy and immune system going strong.

I’ve experimented with a lot of different products over the years to help keep me healthy. Spirulina is a foundation product for me. I use some others as well, but when I have to pick and choose I don’t go without the spirulina.

Check it out for yourself here:
Organic Spirulina

Tropical Energy

1 Cup Soy Milk

1 to 1-1/2 inch ring of fresh pineapple.

8 large frozen strawberries

1 tsp coconut oil

MSM  If you have never used MSM you start with 1/8 tsp and build gradually.

1 Tsp Merlin’s Herbal Magic Roots Elixir-find it on the same link as the Spirulina.  Great stuff.

1 Tbl powdered Spirulina

Stevia to taste

Blend it all together.  Enjoy a filling and nutrient dense liquid meal.  This is energizing and caffeine free.  It will help alkalize your body to boost your health.

Weight Loss

If you have an interest in losing weight I recommend that you increase you nutrient rich food sources and decrease the items you are consuming that have little or no nutritional value.

Enjoy two nutrient rich beverages a day. I enjoy one in the morning and usually one right after work. Here’s an example:
1 cup orange juice
1 cup coconut milk
1 Tbl Spirulina-Plant based complete protein, vitamins, minerals, etc. Can’t say enough. It’s great.
1/4-1/2 tsp MSM-sulfur, important for cellular & joint health. Keeps the cells flexible
1 tsp Merlin’s Herbal Magic Roots Elixir-Energizing & alkalizing herbal blend-Find this at one of the above links under Tea & Spices
6-8 frozen strawberries
Stevia-no calorie natural sweetner

If you want it to be more filling you could use yogurt or kefir instead of one of the other liquids.

Weight lose not just about what you eat.  Find ways to have fun exercising.  Get out and walk, swim, bike ride, take a dance class.  Do a variety of activities so you don’t get bored.  You don’t want your mind to get bored and you body needs variety also.  You will burn calories and boost your feeling of well being.  Make it fun, not work.

Spilled the Goods

This morning started out feeling like I had so many things to do I didn’t know where to start.  I knew a to do list was in order.  After the animals got fed I made my morning smoothie.  The recipe varies to keep it interesting:

1 Cup orange juice

3/4 cup coconut milk

1 Tbl Spirulina-Amazing complete protein

1-1/2 tsp Opti-MSM (organic sulfur) If you’ve never used this you need to start with smaller amounts.  Great for joints, skin, hair, nails, healing, cleansing, etc.

1/2 tsp Merlin’s Herbal Magic Roots Elixir-Cleansing and energizing without caffeine.

1/2 tsp Maca-Balances endocrine system.

Stevia-No calorie natural sweetner

8 frozen strawberries

Blend and enjoy.  It tastes great.  It’s very green.  Very fulfilling.  Packed with nutrients.

I decided to take my smoothie and go feed the fish in the pond and pick tomatoes.  I spilled 3/4 of the smoothie.  Ugh.  The ants around here will be supercharged.  I knew it was time to slow down and not worry about getting anything done.  Breath and just feel good.  That’s enough right now.

I love these products. You can find everything but the Stevia at the link below.

SuperFood=Spirulina

There are a lot of SuperFoods out there these days. I have tried numerous ones, but my staple is Spirulina which is blue-green algae. Spirulina is a full spectrum, non-toxic, is easy to digest and 50-70% protein. It contains all eight essential amino acids making it a complete protein. It is superior to the isolated protein powders, especially those from animal origins. Animal proteins are high uric acid forming and this contributes significantly to ostoporosis and kidney stress. Spirulina’s protein is gentle on your kidneys and it has been shown to actually help protect against kidney failure. Spirulina is also easier to digest than animal protein.

I add it to my cat and dog’s food everyday.

Spirulina provides high levels of chlorophyll and also contains iron, vitamin A, a full spectrum of carotenoids, B-1, B-2, B-6, E and K. It provides a vast array of minerals, trace elements, phytonutrients and enzymes. Spirulina offers beneficial fatty acids DHA, GLA and others which have been shown to possess anti-viral activity.

Spirulina is a whole food source of concentrated nutrients. I use it in a smoothie or added to juice everyday, usually twice a day. In the morning and when I get home from work.

Spirulina is great if you want to lose weight you can create a nutrition packed drink that supports your bodies needs and boosts your energy. Use the powder powder in a nutrient packed drink before meals and your body will feel more satisfied. If you find your challenge is between meal snacking than use it as a snack substitute to satisfy your cravings.  This should be only one aspect of your weight loss plan.  A healthy body needs great nutrition and exercise.  You also want to explore your emotional relationship to your body.

This is how I consumed my Spirulina this morning:

1-1/2 cups organic berry juice or any juice you like. Apple cider is another favorite.
1 Tablespoon Spirulina
Opti-MSM Flake-the amount varies, if you never took you start with a small amount and build
Stevia – natural no calorie sweetner
8 +/- frozen strawberries
a couple ice cubes

Blend and enjoy.

Mandy’s Allergy Update

MandyMandy and I have been using MSM twice a day since about the end of May.  The amount of mucus in her eyes from allergies has been reduced by about 75% I would say.  She hasn’t stopped scratching, but that has improved.  I am giving her 1 tsp twice a day mixed in with her food along with 1/2 tsp of mangosteen powder.

The MSM works better in relation with vitamin C.

I have been adding the MSM in a smoothie or juice once or twice a day along with 1 tsp of Mangosteen powder, 1 tbl of Spirulina and 1 tbl of a raw herbal and plant blend called Earth.  I had been having an intense toothache which is 98% gone.  I figured I would get rid of what I’m sure was an infection before I see the dentist, ugh.

In the short period of time I have noticed an improvement in my nails and skin.

Check it out for yourself.  MSM is great for joint health, reducing allergies, helps the body produce insulin, assists in metabolizing carbs.  It helps the body absorb more nutrients so it’s great to take in conjunction with other nutrients, especially vitamin C.

These are all products I get from Sunfood Nutrition.  I believe they are one of the best sources for food based nutrition that I’ve found.
